Pablo Neruda Presente!

Movie Pablo Neruda presente!
Year 2008
Pablo Neruda: You will ask why his poetry doesn't speak to us of dreams, of the leaves, of the great volcanoes of his native land? Come and see the blood in the streets, come and see the blood in the streets, come and see the blood in the streets!
Pablo Neruda: The problem of the future in our world and in yours, is man himself. In my poem, 'The Heights of Macchu Picchu,' I use a vision of ancient men to understand the men of today. From the Inca to the Indian, from the Aztec to the contemporary Mexican peasant, our homeland, America, has magnificent mountains, rivers, deserts, and mines rich in minerals. Yet the inhabitants of this generous land live in great poverty. What then should be the poet's duty.
Ariel Dorfman: And so he became a poet of peace. In great measure. And I think that's how we must remember him, of love and peace and of fury as well because threre’s a great deal of anger in Neruda because of the waste, the way we have wasted our planet. The way we have devastated the lives of so many people. And that hurt him enormously. And yet, he was always full of the most extraordinary optimism.
Rafita: He loved the sea, but didn't love to be in a boat that much. He called himself un marino de tierra, a sailor of land.
